TO SAVE A LIFE
(PG13)
How far would you
go?
How much would you risk?
How hard would you fight?
To Save A Life...
Movie Synopsis
Ever since Jake
Taylor was a kid, he was the type of guy you couldn't
help but like. For Jake, life is good. He has a ton of
friends, a basketball scholarship, a hot girlfriend and
a really bright future. Not much to get down about,
right?
Enter Roger Dawson. He was Jake's childhood best friend
before Jake's growing popularity pushed him out. Tired
of not fitting in and having a place to belong, Roger
walks onto campus and , with a gun in his pocket and
pain in his heart, makes a tragic move.
Jake is devastated by what Roger has done, and something
in him changes. In seeking answers in his own life, one
question plagues him the most: Could I have saved him?
He finds himself deeply compelled to reach out to kids
on the fringe - kids who aren't viewed as cool enough.
But this decision, among other things, threatens Jake's
world. He may lose his friends, his scholarship and even
his reputation by asking, "What do I want my life to be
about?"
What People Are Saying
About It
One of the many
things I love about the movie To Save A Life is how
it portrays in a very real [non-cheesy] way the
different pressures teenagers face. It opens doors
for students to talk with trusted leaders on where
they see themselves in the story.”
—Doug Fields, Founder: Simply Youth Ministry &
Author: Purpose Driven Youth Ministry
“This generation of teenagers wants to make a
difference, but they are bogged down by the most
pervasive and life-threatening influences of any
previous generation. To Save A Life is a wake-up
call for all teenagers to the fact that they are on
this earth to give help and hope to their friends.”
—Ron Luce, President of Teen Mania
“An Excellent Film. This film is relevant and
thought provoking. It is effective at developing a
contrast of ideas with today’s culture.”
—Josh McDowell, Speaker & Author
“To Save A Life portrays timely issues for today’s
teens. Youth workers, parents, and teachers should
definitely capitalize on this opportunity to take
teens to the theater. Riveting conversations will
follow.”
—Craig Detweiler, Director Reel Spirituality
Institute & Associate Professor Fuller Theological
Seminary
“Really one of my favorite movies. That’s probably
because it feels like the world I know - the world
high schoolers live in. It gives us a voice. I hope
every student goes to see it and takes friends with
them.”
—Zach Hunter, Teen Author and Speaker

Sponsoring a
night of TO SAVE A LIFE
Help us spread the word
about this thought provoking film that is relevant for
every teenagers life!
We are encouraging youth
groups (church, school, social, friends, teams, squads,
etc) to help us spread the word about this movie by
sponsoring a night of TO SAVE A LIFE. Here's how
it will work!
We are currently working
on confirming our opening date for this film. We
anticipate it starting on Friday February 19th or 26th.
Step 1: Call Nancy
Jo Smith to schedule your movie date. Your group
may choose a Sunday through Thursday to sponsor the
film. We will start taking scheduled sponsorship
dates February 5th, 2010.
Step 2: Spread the
word! Sponsorship is really about you getting the
message out that the movie is at Marketplace Cinema, and
encouraging your friends, family & peers to see it!
Your group will pass out flyers, use Facebook, Myspace,
Twitter, text, call, email, and tell your friends about
the movie. On your sponsorship night they need to
mention your group when purchasing a ticket. For
every ticket sold that mentions your group, you will
receive 10% of ticket sales! However, please note
that you may not promote the movie on premises.
The purpose of this is for your group to encourage those
that would not attend on their own to come and see this
movie. When you spread the word, you just need to
make sure they know to mention your group.
Step 3: To raise a
little extra money for your group, we will donate a $15
Movie Gift Card, 4 Movie Passes, and 4 Concession
Coupons for Free Concessions for a lobby raffle.
You may sell raffle tickets for 50 cents each in our
lobby the day you sponsor the film. All proceeds
will be yours! Your group needs to provide all the
necessary items for coordinating this raffle, with the
exception of the prizes we will donate. You may
collect additional raffle items from other sources and
raffle those if you wish.
For more information, or
to schedule a sponsorship date please call Nancy Jo
Smith at 252-438-3892. There are still some dates
available for sponsorship!
Thank you!
